WEEKLY REFLECTION (13-11-17 to 17-11-17)

                                                  As a part of B.Ed curriculum, a training programme has been organized by our college Fatima Memmorial Training College. Inaccordance with this, we about 8 members from varied departments have been placed to GOVT.HSS.WEST KOLLAM school for our second phase of teaching practice. It started on 13 Nov 2017. The Headmistress of the school Smt. Suryakumari and the other  teaching and non teaching staffs were co-operative and friendly with us. My biology teacher of the school Mrs.Mumthas was assigned me to teach biology on 8th B and 9th B classes.I started to take the chapter "To Maintain Homeostasis" on 9th B. I taught them the topics : Excretory organs and the synthesis of urea, Kidneys, Structure of nephron, Stages in urine formation etc using ICT, Blackboard, Slide Presentation etc. Similarly, on 8th B I taught them the topic: Scientists & their contributions by Role play model . Children are very interested in this new teaching method and gave maximum input from their part to play the roles. Then the topics such as: Diversity in names, Taxonomic hierarchy, Five kingdom classification were taught from the chapter "Why Classification" using ICT this week. A special occassion is that, NOV 14 had been celebrated as Children's day. Many programmes were held in the school as a part of this such as group and individual songs by the children. There were Assembly on Monday and Wednesday conducted by 5th & 6th class students. I got many substitution periods on this week on 5th,6th,7th classes.I managed them properly and teach them short stories and engaged them in interesting songs and games.Thus ,this week moves quite happily and interesting.
